The blankets turned out well. But a word of warning; Work, Work, & more Work. Not that
they're not worth it. But it involves a lot of cutting and snipping. And it is very messy, with
a lot of threads all over the place.
I'm working on my baking for tomorrow's tea at church. Yes, I almost always wait until the
last minute to do my baking. I'm just like that! My MIL has been working on hers all week.
I have been sneaking a peek at many of your site and Wow! Many of you have already got
your homes looking so pretty for Christmas. Now I'm itching to do mine. I've got one more
apron to do and then I'm free to decorate. I can't wait!
Anyone got special plans for your weekend? Whatever you're doing, be safe. I know some
of the Great Lakes areas really got hammered with bad weather. My sons been out for three
16 hour days again restoring power.
Have a good weekend-Kimberly
Those blankets turned out adorable! I want to snuggle under your little Lexy's blankie..delcious! xo
ReplyDeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors you've chosen. They will love them.

You did a beautiful job on making those blankets. Wow!
ReplyDeleteWe had terrible winds and snow in parts of Utah, but... somehow we escaped it all. Very strange, because being up against the mountains, we usually get hammered.
Hope your son stays safe, and that everyone that suffered damage with the storms is able to get things back on track.
They will treasure those. I still use an afghan my mother made in the 70s.
ReplyDeleteDid you see my lineman's prayer? Mine hubby has been out there too with our wind storms. He is home for only a few short hours and then we probably won't see him of another 24 hrs.
ReplyDeleteThe grands are going to love them! Thanks for the warning about all the threads...I have two waiting in the wings.
ReplyDeleteHi Kimberly,
ReplyDeleteGreat job! They look so warm and cozy...the grands are just going to love snuggling with them!
Have a great day Baking!
All the Best,
Christine

Ohhhh, they are soooo worth it!
ReplyDeleteGreat color combination's.
Stay warm!
The blankets are lovely. Don't feel bad - I don't have the decorating done either. (Maybe its a Canadian thing?? Are we procrastinators??) Lol
ReplyDeleteI think they turned out so nice. I can't wait to see what kind of goodies you make for your church tea.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lovely weekend.
I think the only plans I have are to get the tree up.
We will see though.
Have a nice weekend.
Wishing your son a safe time at work... I used to work with guys like your son(linemen) before I had kids...
ReplyDeleteHave fun with all your baking and sewing!
Love your blankets. Are they the flannel ones that you do several layers and cut the top on so it will chenille? I live near the great lakes and we had 6" of snow on day and a trace amount last night. Calling for rain for the weekend so we will have mud again. I planned on getting our tree, so hope we can cut between rain drops. Have a lovely weekend:)
ReplyDeleteThey turned out to be just beautiful with a lot of love sewn into them, too! Your grands will adore them.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
Oh Kimberly they turned out just adorable! I am going to have to make one for a new baby my sister's daughter is having. They don't find out till the 20th of this month rather it is to be a boy or girl so I will wait. Not to mention no more BIG projects for me until after the holiday. But you have inspired me. I am going to make up a couple of quick aprons too, but I am going to decorate first! Have a wonderful week-end. HUGS

AWESOME! Are they flannel? I'd love to make one!! DO you throw them in the wash to get the seams fuzzy? Really cute prints :)
ReplyDeleteI am having a Tea this weekend, baking, decorating and doing a gingerbread house...fun, fun~

Your blankets are beautiful and soft looking. Lucky kid who gets them for Christmas. JB
ReplyDeleteI have been extremely busy and haven't been making the blog visit rounds lately. I'm glad I was able to stop by to see the pretty blankets. I'm sure they will be very much loved and used for a long time.
ReplyDeleteYour talent is obvious as well as your patience. I normally don't do big projects because I never finish them. Yet you did three. All of them are very pretty.
Adorable! And Camden's is my favorite!
ReplyDeletegreat JOB well done -- thanks for sharing..

Blankets turned out darling. Yes, I know what a mess they are. I have made quite a few of these rag type quilts. There are some special scissors that make the cutting a bit easier. Still, my hand hurts by the time I am through. The kids are going to love them. Then Grandma will say, "It was all worth it!"
ReplyDeleteOh yes! The blankets are so cuddly and sweet, I know they will be very loved and used a lot.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Oh my gosh--You must be so excited--These are simply PRECIOUS!!! And true treasures from the heart--absolute heirlooms-in-the-making!

Oh so pretty, they are going to love them! I am a bad Nana, I don't sew at all for them. Did all the time for our girls when they were growing up, clothes and Barbie clothes too but 3 grandson's and I haven't made a thing! My Aunt Joy used to really give me a hard time. I'm so busy these days I don't have time for all my favorite blogs, hope I get snowed in soon and then I'll have an excuse! We got our first snow this week.
