When unexpected company shows up I'm usually running around the house picking this
or that up and throwing in a bedroom and shutting the door. You know, like my laptop
that's perpetually sitting on my dining table!
Not the case with this unexpected guest. When Mr. Bobcat arrived I went running
for my camera!
We have seen this fellow/gal's foot prints around the yard for some time. They were right
under my MIL's camp kitchen window two days ago.
Yesterday I just happened to be looking out the side patio door when he came out from
under the deck. I wish he hadn't gotten so far a way before I was able to grab my camera.
Here are his/her prints as he came out from under the deck on his way over to the shed.
Earlier Tim had hollered at me to look out the front window, and there was a wolf
running through the yard. And I do mean running, so there was no chance of my
getting a picture. So you can only imagine how thrilled I was to be able to snap the
Bobcat!
That's all of the excitement I have to share.
Have a great weekend-Kimberly
I have to admit this is way cool!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
MyHero wants to move in with you! Let me just warn you first- he eats a lot and is not very handy...but he has great ideas and is constantly thinking and talking!;>) xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing Kimberly! Great pictures. I wonder if it was hiding under your deck from the wolf. Be careful out there. Hugs, Pamela
ReplyDeleteThat'd be plenty enough excitement for me! A wolf racing through the yard! A bobcat under the deck. Do they smell as "catty" as a housecat?
ReplyDeleteSo now that you know you must wear your camera around your neck all day, who knows what things you may be able to capture. Well done!
Hi, Kimberly! Thanks for coming by to see my dotty travel case!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a lucky shot of the bobcat! My son has found bobcat tracks here on the farm but we've never seen it.
We used to live within site of Lake Michigan and I really loved it there and miss it. The winters were a bit long for my Texas born husband, though!
Enjoy! ♥
Holy cow...that is unbelievable! Glad you shared!
ReplyDeleteWOW!! I love it...you really did get some great pics! And a speeding wolf too? haha....Have a good week-end, and I am with Vee, better wear that camera around your neck over there!
ReplyDeleteToo scary for words! Those were great pictures, you were quick on the draw!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! Great pictures!

He's beautiful....
ReplyDeleteLucky you for grabbing his pic! How excellent :-)
ReplyDeleteWell I like your kind of excitement. How wonderful to be able to see that from your window.
ReplyDeleteWe have a fox living on our front porch at night, and of course, I never have my camera. I am glad you were able to catch the bobcat. Have a lovely day.
Oh that is so cool! And a wolf too!!! You got some good ones of the bob cat in the snow. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kimberly,
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures!
Wow, lots of excitement at your house...They are so close!
Enjoy your weekend...
All the Best,
Christine
I have to be honest....I would be pretty creeped out if those were my yard animals!!!!
ReplyDeleteWolves, Bobcat, Deer...Oh My!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! That's amazing and what a beautiful cat. I'm always watching PBS and their Nature show and I just got finished reading a book on Alaska written by a naturalist and another about Canada by a man living in the wilderness. I eat that stuff up! Nature fascinates me...always has. Lucky you to have a front row seat!
what an honor! I miss so much having wildlife come to visit.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky.
I wonder if the bobcats attack? I'd be wanting to stay inside if they were visiting in my area! We have had sightings of bobcats here in Missouri, but hopefully they will stay off our property.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
Wow, great pictures, Kimberly. That is exciting! Scary too, but exciting. Bears, bobcats, wolves...I'd be afraid to step outside my door!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were inside when all this activity happened. Under you deck? Let's hope he/she doesn't decide this is home! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm imagining the energy that was flowing in your home. To see a bobcat and wolf in my yard, would be electrifying.
ReplyDeleteWow... I often show my kids your pictures of the wild life in your back yard, they are going to enjoy this one too I am sure... thank you for sharing :O)
ReplyDeleteGreat captures Kimberley, glad you had the camera handy. I keep mine on the kitchen table all the time.
ReplyDeleteIn this case the canine may have been running from the feline! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures!
Hey Kimberly, I don't know whether to be green with envy or glad I don't have to worry about those two visitors. I love wildlife but not sure I'd appreciate them hanging in my yard, I'd be afraid they'd get my old dog. Thanks for sharing, you certainly have a wonderful winter playland.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Wow.. And I thought deer were exciting.. grin..
ReplyDeleteGod bless..
Wow! That is so exciting! Who do you think will visit next?
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than having the wildlife come to you. Enjoy the scenary and be careful.
ReplyDeleteSandy, Oklahomatransient.blogspot.com
Wow, that doesn't happen every day of the week does it?
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you! That is a shot of a lifetime. You got some pretty good photos for such short notice. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYikes !!! It looked so big, I thought it was a cougar. So now we know the owner of those foot prints you shared with us before..Please be careful! xo
ReplyDeleteKimberly, would you please just hang your camera around your neck and look out your window every 30 seconds for me. I love it when you post about the critters that come to your yard. However, I must say, it makes me a little nervous, especially when the bear comes to visit.
ReplyDeleteWell that is a little more than exciting....think I would be afraid to go out after that.
ReplyDeleteWow, those are amazing photos! That's a big cat...and a wolf, too! We keep a fenced dog run to prtect against coyotes, but that cat would jump our fence in an instant!
ReplyDeleteHi Kimberly, pet owners around the Soo have to be very careful about leaving their animals in the yard for too long at night, there are so many critters who are no longer afraid to come into town. Laurie (my buddy from down the hall) had lots of wildlife at her place when she lived down the line, as she mentioned above. Have a great week. Hugs, Chris

WOW!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, that's not the kind of visitor that I would like to have around.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day.
Hugs, Cindy
Exciting, isn't he a beautiful cat! How fun to finally catch him! Great photos kiddo!
ReplyDeleteAre you sure that is a bobcat, looks like a cougar to me. That is nothing to mess with, we had one on our property years back, and it was too close for comfort. They are beautiful creatures. Your blog is inspiring. Dawn E. Brown
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome to be able to look out your window and see animals like this...kind of scary too, I guess.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful where you are!
A little scary to see him that close to the house!
ReplyDeleteWe actually have some bobcats down here in SC too. They died out for a while in certain areas but they have come back!
