Yesterday Tim drove me to the Alaskan border for a Mother's Day dinner
at Buckshot Betty's. We know the owner from our very first trip out here six years ago.
On the way there we saw a moose, an eagle, and a grizzly on our way home.
I didn't have the camera with me, of course!
Today we went to Whitehorse (I hurt my back and had to see a chiropractor).
On the way there we again saw a grizzly and elk also. This time I had the
camera, but was in too much pain to care whether I got a photo, or not!
But as luck would have it, on the way back while driving around Kluane Lake,
we came upon a 'blond' bear. This time I was ready. I had my camera out-
husband jumped out of the car to take a picture and it wouldn't work. Now
this is the camera I was supposed to have replaced on our way out here.
But I had it set in my mind that I was going to buy only one certain camera,
and since I didn't find that camera, I bought none. Needless to say there was
a little Xo&#@X being said over missing that blond bear, because they
are rather rare you know. Even in the Yukon.Well, I am exaggerating about the words that were expressed. Hubby didn't really say them-but I felt he
was thinking them. So next trip in town I will be coming home with some
type of a new camera.
There has been so much going on
the last couple of weeks.
But I'll save it for another post-I don't want to get too
lengthy here.
I'm sorry I haven't been able to visit as much as I would like to.
Now that we have clientele at the resort the owner has no choice
but to turn on the wi-fi. Hopefully I can pop by more regularly
again now.
Wishing you all a good week,
Kimberly,
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing worse than pain in your back. I hope the chiropractor was able to relieve the pain. Don't work so hard!!! I can't wait to see what type of pictures you will be taking later when you have your new camera.
Take care,
Sandy
I love the name of the resturant. Do they serve wild game?
ReplyDeleteHope your back is better.
Cathy
Sorry about your back, I know how painful it can be. You will be thrilled with a new camera, can't wait to hear what you get. My internet was down for a week and I felt like I was sent back to the Stone Ages. So far how are you liking the move??
ReplyDeleteI would love to see that wildlife!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, how exciting! I've always wanted to see a moose. I'm not too sure I'd want to see a grizzly, certainly not up close. I never heard of blond bears -- I'm off to Google it now!
ReplyDeleteThink you better get that new camera fast as you can....what great shots those would have been but maybe for there it is normal:)
ReplyDeleteOuch, back pain, I sure hope you are feeling better. I think since you have Wi-fi you best be online and ordering that camera. So there is no more of x-f-t-y-o!!!! Take care for we love to hear from you!
ReplyDeleteI do not like the sounds of back pain requiring a visit to the chiroman. John is on a waiting list for same. Back pain is such a misery.
ReplyDeleteA blond bear...hope that you have another opportunity when you have a new camera. Are you able to order one on Amazon? That way you can get whatever you'd like.
Stay well, take care, have fun...
I am so sorry that you hurt your back. I suppose the worst part is that you can't just run down the street to the doctor. Good luck on finding a camera...and I will believe you DID see a blond bear even if you don't have the pictures to prove it! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHow is your back? I hope you got some relief at the chiropractor's.
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame you missed those photo ops but I'm sure there will be more in your future. I'm glad you have now got a more reliable internet service. Take care of yourself. Hugs, Pamela

ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon, nothing worse that hurting your back.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your camera up and working soon, I would love to have seen that blond bear. It sounds like you get to see things that I have and will only ever read about in books.

Hi Kimberly, I sure hope you got some help from the chiropractor for your back! Hope you get a camera soon for those great photo ops! You might try ordering from Amazon for the one you want if you don't find it next time you are in town.
ReplyDeleteTake care and have a good week!
Hi Kimberly, So hoping your back is better! Wow what sights you've seen-especially a grizzly. I know you'll be back and surfing the web soon. Blessings.

Geez..I sure hope your back gets better soon...I know about those pulled backs, and they can make you miserable..
ReplyDeleteI would love to have seen these animals, especially the grizzly.
Of course, I would have probably wet my pants!!

Hi Kimberly, been thinking about you. Sounds like things are going well. Life is certainly full of adventure for you. Don't let those grizzlies get too close.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Jann
I hope your back is feeling better by now. It's a shame that you weren't able to get pictures of the animals you saw, but I bet it was exciting seeing them just the same.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your back pain. I can feel your pain. Been there many years ago . I will pray for you .
ReplyDeleteI live all year round up north .
Right now we see Moose more then we want. They are big monsters and they are very take charge. Move out of sight when they stand on the highway and the byways. They are 10 feet tall. My hubby seen alot this week.
We have the black bears. They live around my area and wonder out of the bush with the young ones. So we have to make sure no food or bird hangers or in sight. Or look out.
My daughter got a new camera for Mothers day and wow when she shot her son throwing water in the pool. The camera took that action of that water . Awesome. So looking forward for that G. bear later.
I hope by the time you read this you are feeling much better! Bak pain is terrible! Sorry you missed the bears pics but I'm sure you'll have more opportunities.
ReplyDeleteI've had a hard time keeping up with blogging and reading them as I need to keep working outside before it gets too hot here. I am sending you something as sin as I get my act together here! LOL!
