I have to tell you friends one of the disadvantages of being a person with good health is that when one does get sick, it is a big deal. And a big enough deal that one wants the sympathy of 'everyone '! Well you can only imagine my surprise when I heard my husband tell his mother, via phone, that I was a little under the weather. Under the weather! Hand me that phone Mister. I'll let her know how 'under the weather' I am! I can't speak, my throat is raw, and I can't seem to suppress these coughing fits.
See what I mean? I'm a big fat baby! It's not good enough for me that my husband is waiting on me hand and foot. I want the world to know that I'm ill and feel sorry for me. Pathetic, I say. I know I am!
However, since the couch and I have been married to each other, I've had time to catch up on several of my favorite Christmas movies. (Notice how quickly I can change from a wretch to one who can see the silver lining in my illness)? Here's what I've seen so far......
Love this one too.
Sweet little Natalie.
This one was new to me this year, but I enjoyed it. Now I must see my most favorite of all time Christmas movies-'Holiday Inn'. Then I'll be satisfied. Do you have a favorite Christmas movie
you like to see every year? Maybe it's one I've already mentioned.
Hope you feel better soon! I LOVE "White Christmas"! One of my all time favorite movies.
ReplyDeleteEvening Kimberly, poor baby, hope you feel better real soon......I love all those movies to but call me crazy, gotta watch Christmas Vacation every year......love it.....Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon...I hate to feel sick too...I LOVE Preachers' Wife, but I love many of them. Rest up and enjoy the rest of your day!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that you have been ill. Me, too! I NEVER get sick and this thing in my voice/throat has knocked me for a loop. I got caught up on sorting some pictures and stuff.
ReplyDeleteAs far as movies- I love "It's a Wonderful Life". I think that is my all time favorite. Blessings and Merry Christmas- xo Diana
I hope you feel better by Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI have the same list, though I lost my copy of It's a Wonderful Life.
I have been dying to watch Christmas in Connecticut but my husband told he he doesn't like it. I had no idea he didn't like it either, I have made him watch it each year. :)
I haven't seen that last movie. That is the ONLY reason to be "down and out" for awhile. Cuddle on the couch, with your kleenex's...a warm blanky...and hot chocolate or tea (or whatever)
ReplyDeleteI am glad hubby is taking good care of you.
Oh Kimberly, I'm so sorry you are feeling so sick this week. I certainly hope you are over it by Christmas so you can enjoy the holiday. I love Christmas movies and the first 3 you have are favourites. Mind you I've only seen It's a Wonderful Life so far on TV. But I have intentions to watch Miracle on dvd soon. Enjoy! And feel better my friend. Blessings, Pamela

Kim, have hubby whip you up this cough remedy and you will get better soon.
ReplyDelete¼ teaspoon Cayenne
¼ teaspoon Ginger
1 Tablespoon Cider Vinegar (an organic one, like Bragg’s, is preferred.)
2 Tablespoon Water
1 Tablespoon Honey (use a locally produced raw honey, if possible.)
Dissolve cayenne and ginger in cider vinegar and water. Add honey and shake well. Take 1 Tablespoon as needed for cough. Hoo-wee.
Note: this doesn’t dissolve perfectly. Always shake well before using.
If you make this in small batches as the recipe is written, there is no need to refrigerate.
If you prefer, you may refrigerate this. It keeps as long as you need it. I like to make small batches (it is so easy to mix up.) and use it up in a just a few days.
White Christmas and Christmas in Connecticut!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!

Home Alone is John's and mine is A Christmas Story followed closely by It's A Wonderful Life. So sorry that you've been under the weather. Hope that you're nearing full recovery so that you have time to do those last minute things you love to do before Christmas.
ReplyDeleteOh shoot and bagooties.....
ReplyDeleteSo sorry that you are sick.

Enjoy your Christmas movie marathon.

Merry Christmas, and may your New Year be bright and blessed.
Don't forget "A Charlie Brown Christmas"!
ReplyDeleteKimberly, I bet you have been married long enough to know that your sniffles would be the world's worst cold if it were your husband's. LOL Take care, you want to be well for Christmas. I am wishing you a blessed Christmas. xo,Susie
ReplyDeleteOh dear! I hope you feel better very soon. "Christmas Story" is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteMy favourites are all of the above except for "Call Me Mrs Miracle", I have not seen that yet. I also love some of the Hallmark movies, I've been watching and listening as I clean and organize this week.
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry to hear that you're ill, I hope you're feeling better very soon!
Merry Christmas and many blessings to you and yours in 2013.
Hugs, Cindy
Kimberly,
ReplyDeleteI truly hope your feeling better. No one wants to be sick during the holidays. I must say my favorite movie is "Holiday Inn" or "White Christmas". Watching movies in front of a warm fireplace, with a hot cup of cider should help make you feel better.
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that you're sick. Thus far, we've been fine at our house. (knock on wood).
ReplyDeleteNo favorite Christmas movies for me, sadly.
I'm sorry that you have been feeling poorly! I hope you get to feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas movie is It's a Wonderful Life.
Feel better soon! Have a Merry Christmas!

Dear Kimberly, I hope that by now you are feeling better! I have many favorite Christmas movies but this year have found several new Hallmark movies that I've enjoyed. From my home to yours, Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
One of our favourites is Annabelle's Wish, an animated film with the voice of Randy Travis. Hope you are feeling better soon. I have had 3 colds since November and I'm fed up with them too. I'm now following and have added your blog to the Canadian blogs list in my sidebar. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMost Christmas Hallmark I LOVE and enjoy over and over.. and all the ones you shown here I LOVE to watch too!
