I'm In the Mood For........
Sewing!
Oh, I bet you thought I was going to say that
I was in the mood for love or in the mood for Spring.
Well, I'll take either or both of them too, but what I
am really just itching to do is to get started on a new sewing project.
I would really love to make some of these beautiful crochet edged pillowcases. The lovelies shown above are made by Bee In My Bonnet. She lives in the UK.
And besides the pillowcases being so beautiful, believe it or not, scalloping is the only crocheting pattern I've ever mastered.
This is no lie.
So I feel fairly confident I can do the edging on these.
Then there are these vintage tablecloths, turned
t-towels. I have several old tablecloths tucked away
in my china cabinet drawers.
Notice there is crocheted scalloped edging again?
Since I still have so many vintage sheets left
over from my curtain project I think I should make a quilt with them. Don't you?
But it is hard to decide which quilt to make, there are so many cute patterns out there to choose from.
Only time will tell how many of these dream projects I actually get done, but I've decided to start with the scalloping.
I just hope I remember how now that I've boasted to you about it.
I'll keep you posted!
Oh-and now I want to sew, too! Great projects here...wish I could scallop crochet! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWell it has sure been my mood recently too, haha. My sister crochets around the edges of receiving blankets and I just LOVE LOVE the look. And I love those pillow cases. I have never learned to crochet however. I will be watching now for your finished projects. ; )

ReplyDeleteI remember my Mom scalloping the edges of everything she would make. I never learned. I need to get an easy pattern and teach myself how to do it. I think it looks so nice. I love those pillows in the top picture. I hope you get to sew lots and lots.

ReplyDeleteI would give my eye teeth to be able to make those scalloped crocheted edges! Those pillow cases and those adorable towels made from old tablecloths!!! Just too cute. I want to do that. There are all kinds of gorgeous tablecloths out there...with stains, what a perfect solution.

ReplyDeleteWhether the quilt or the edging,I am sure you will do a great job!

Good luck with your projects...
I just finished a wee hat for Vivian, and I have started a granny square afghan for her...Love to keep my hands busy!
Enjoy your day...
Must be cold there, too!!

ReplyDeleteUsing old sheets for quilts is popular now. They are so soft and lovely, its easy to see why.
These are all so pretty and just my kind of thing, but that quilt is really eye-catching! Have fun with your projects.
