A Story of My Lost Sheep, Now Found
Tell me dear friends, are you like me?
Do you decide you're going to de-clutter, then pack many of your décor goodies away in a box never to think of them again? In fact, you just completely
forget that you ever even owned them.
This is sorta how I lost my sheep.
Two years ago we moved into the house that we are presently living in. Of course the first thing I had to do was paint, replace flooring, sew curtains, and so on and so forth. So somehow those poor little sheep that were packed in a box for the move never did get unpacked.
You can view my sheep display here from my previous home if you'd like.

My husband has been working on turning a spare room in our basement into a livable space. Many of the boxes from the basement have made there way to the garage, but many more were brought up to me to go through before they were taken to the resale shop.
Yikes!!
I'm just so glad I ran across my old sheep collection.
but are also a reminder to me of my Good Shepherd-Jesus!

Yes, I've done that too. I used to have a lot of sheep around the house but gave them to the thrift store. I still have a couple that I liked best. A new room to decorate? Sounds like fun. I hope you have a beautiful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI have some sheep for the same reason. To remind me who is the good shepherd, and I am a sheep.
ReplyDeleteI love how they look now at home. I am sure glad you didn't loose them.
Yup. All the time. Sometimes I wonder about where things are now...I have no clue. Currently, I don't know where the key to my china cupboard is. It was always kept in one special place and has now walked off. This is a problem. I am glad that you checked the boxes again! Perfect reminder of the story that the gospel is all about!
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's why I like sheep too. I have a print of Jesus stretching out his arm to rescue a sheep that is lost down in a gully with no hope of getting out, no ability to grasp his hand. Fits my theological perspective. And I love your little sheep! I would have hated losing them too! I have a few on a shelf, some I got in Yorkshire, and love them. Now I'm thinking I need to give them a more prominent position in the kitchen. Please take that sheep out of the meat grinder. Makes me nervous. LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
Our lost items are those we put in a special place so we remember where they are...we lose many things that way!
ReplyDeleteOh I hear you, I am so bad at losing my treasures.Love the sheep,Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteyou know what they say about lost sheep..
ReplyDeleteleave them alone and they will come home...
wagging their tails behind them!
:)
We're all Gods sheep! glad you found them... or they found you!
Oh yes, I can identify with this post. I recently found something that hadn't been unpacked from our move 3 1/2 years ago, and I put it into a safe place - now I can't remember where that might be.
ReplyDeleteYour sheep are sweet and a great reminder of God's good care for us.
I think I must be the world's worst at misplacing things. One nice thing, though, about finding things you've forgotten about is that it is just like getting a gift!
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you found your sheep, they certainly are a wonderful reminder how we all need our Shepherd!
Your sheep are sweet and I'm glad you went through the boxes. I love that picture of Jesus with the sheep.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend ~ FlowerLady
Oh I love these- I am so glad you found them again. What a wonderful reminder of the Good Shepherd!
ReplyDeleteYour sheep are very cute. We have lived here two years now, and we still have a few boxes tucked away that never got unpacked, so I know what you mean. Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love your sheep and how cute "under glass". My problem is I give stuff away and then forget and go looking for it!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I do that too. So happy you found this cute sheep. Are you familiar with the Wallace and Gromit claymations? They have a friend named Shaun the sheep. Your sheep reminds of him a bit. Jesus our shepherd is a lovely addition to this wonderful post. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI do love sheep. I sometimes pack things up and find them years later, it's kind of fun finding something you love that you had forgotten about!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post and sheep vignette. I love how you have the sheep under the cloche. Simply beautiful. A great reminder of our faith and eternal love of Christ. Thank you for sharing at Friday Favorites. We hope to see you join us again this week.
