Hi Friends
I wanted to drop by and let you know that I haven't dropped off of the face of the earth, that I'm still here plugging away. I just haven't really done anything very blog worthy, nothing very interesting!
My real reason for blogging today was to ask you to pray for John, NanaDiana's husband. He has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing very intense treatment.
Deb at The Frugal Little Bungalow has called for a fast today for John. Those who would like to participate can go to either Deb's blog or Nana Diana's to get more info. We all know what it is like to have a loved one ill and in need of prayer. How wonderful it is that we can turn to our friends in the blogging community for support.
Tim and I have been busy repainting the kitchen walls and cabinets. That's what happens ladies if you decide you want white cabinets, you end up re-painting them nearly every year or two!
Above is one of the two picture frames I found at the resale shop for fifty cents. I've replaced the picture with one more to my liking. Lambs, of course!
I am taking my time in deciding were everything is to hang this time around. I ended up having to fill over two dozen holes I had made in the wall before we were even able to paint this last time. Not good! I was happily amazed that my spackling job worked out and you can't see where I had massacred the walls previously. So I'm going to be good this time and not just hang stuff willy nilly.
I also purchased these four white measuring cups cheaply and would like to hang them somewhere.
Lastly, I'm spending my evening working on this latest cross stitch pattern that I bought for a quarter.
Can you believe it? I've only gotten as far as the wheat, but little by little it will get done even if it takes me years. Which it probably will......
I find myself getting all mixed up in my stitches though when I'm watching my programs too intensely. Take Downtown Abby for instance. I was sure that Robert was going to die in last night's episode-so glad he didn't. I had to ask myself though if an ulcer could possibly cause such a horrendous reaction. I found that amount of blood shocking. And then I was really irritated with Daisy's way of expressing herself concerning Mr. Mason. She has yet learned how to reign in her feelings. I guess this is all just the sign of Julian Fellow's splendid writing technique, we are drawn in it .
I do want you to tell you that even though I haven't been blogging lately I'm doing my best to keep up with everyone's blog post. I rarely leave a comment, but I do visit. I don't want to lose touch completely. I've got several projects going, but I need balance in life too. Visiting your blogs is my R&R! Anyway, I'm thinking of you and pray that this finds you all well. Back to the grind.....
Blessing-Kimberly
Sweet to get the word out...yes, praying for John as he comes to mind. So many who are ill or grieving in the blogging community just now and it is a blessing and a privilege to pray.
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy if repainting cabinets. Did they get painted white this time as well? I am giving up all thoughts of white and I have a can of it at the ready. I'll paint something else!
Darling crossstitch. It'd be a years long project for me for certain.
I find Daisy immature. Look at Gwen...they're contemporaries...yet, Gwen is so much further down the road. I now want Mrs. Patmore to marry Mr. Mason. Tee hee...
It's nice to hear from you and we are keeping Diana and John in our prayers today too. Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteHi Kimberly,, sending prayers for Dian's and John,Hugs Francine.
ReplyDeleteI wondered what you have been doing. Glad it is just life. I have been praying for NanaDiana and her family.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks nice. So glad everything is going good for you.
Great to hear from you. Yes, Downton is full of drama, isn't it? Daisy can be a bit irritating - she doesn't seem to think very well.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the cross stitch.
I am praying for Diana's husband. You are right, it is a wonderful thing to have friends all over the world who care enough for us to pray and carry our burdens. One of the best benefits of blogging! I understand the need for balance, it is something I struggle with too. I'm always just glad to see a post. No pressure here! Have a great day Kimberly :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit! I will pray for your friends husband. About not doing anything blog worthy, I think the most mundane things make the best blog reading. Ordinary lives, ordinary activities. I also watched that horrible event on Downton Abbey and was so shocked! I read later they made the event as real as possible even changing the color of the blood darker as it repeated because that is how it would have really looked. They also used the first take even though they did several because the actors had real shock because it was worse than they thought and blood sprayed everywhere it wasn't supposed to go, like on Cora. Fortunately we are usually sheltered from events like this but I felt like I was actually there, seeing it happen. It certainly has been the talk of the internet!
ReplyDeleteHi Kimberly, I'm a follower of Nana Diana and upholding them too. I've wondered where you've been, now I know. Sometimes we just have life crowding in on us and don't have time for blogging, I understand. Got to tell you I loved the picture(frame too)of the girl with the dog-so english. I also like the picture you replaced it with. Hope you have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Prayers here for John. Those measuring cups are pretty. I've never seen any quite like that before. I like your needlepoint too. Hope you are having a good week.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear of NanaDiana's husband's illness and will pray for him. I love the old frames and the sheep prints you've put in them. Painting cupboards is a big job! I'm glad it's you and not me. :) You should see the nail holes in the wall above our sofa! Haha. It's nice to see your post today. Take care Kimberly. Blessings, Pam
ReplyDeleteAll day Monday I felt that there was a powerful common cause in blogland, so many prayers being lifted up for John, and for Diana.
ReplyDeleteI applaud you for determining to have balance in life in relation to blogging. Blogging has to be our servant, not our boss!
I was so shocked at that moment in Downton Sunday night, completely took me by surprise, could not watch beyond the first split second. Kept my eyes closed.
