I'm wondering why I ever said I would show you my scaled down kitchen now. I only have two pictures taken after all. But here it is...
I realize that I should get a close up sometime of my tea towel curtains. I bought the package of four at Wal-Mart's for six dollars and then used my embroidery machine to add the French bee design. They are very simple, but I like them.
Our local grocery had a nice selection of flowers for Easter. I was so surprised to see the hydrangeas. They are my favourite. We are not able to grow anything but the White Annabelle's here. Another customer told me that she bought one in past years and planted it and it did come back for two summers, but not the third. Surprisingly the bouquets of assorted flowers were $35. each, where the hydrangea plants were only $15.00. I would've thought the opposite. If I can just keep it alive until June I'll plant it outside and hopefully keep mine alive for a few years too.
I hope all of you enjoyed your Easter. Truthfully, mine and Tim's was pretty miserable. We had both been sick all last week with the flu. Today was the first day that we didn't spend half the day sleeping.
So happy to be feeling better! Now if I just regain my energy I'll be cook'in with gas.
Take care-Kim
How pretty! Hydrangeas are my favorite flower but I don't have any in my flower beds here...yet. Hope you feel much better this week. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteGood morning! I am loving the kitchen...perfect! I am always amazed at what they want for fresh flowers..crazy! LOVE hydrangeas too. My mother could always get them to grow beautifully, but me..not soo much. Sorry you and hubby have not been feeling well...it's been a bad year for illnesses. Hope your feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteKim, your kitchen looks so nice! I love the tea towel curtains that you jazzed up with the bee embroidery design. Really cute! I love your painted dining set too. Gorgeous. I think they mark the prices up on flowers at Easter and other holidays. Although my tulips were the same price as all winter. :) I bought a hydrangea one year after Easter for $5.00 and planted it outside in the spring. It was green all that summer and the next year had one bloom. The third year it didn't do well so I dug it up and tossed it. I think it needed more sunshine and the spot was not a good one. I hope you have some luck with yours. They are beautiful. Sometimes a perennial like Endless Summer Blue can be bought for the same price. I've had great luck with mine! I hope you and Tim are feeling much better. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteI love the scaled down kitchen look, its my way too, simple I like better,, partly because it makes it easier for me to keep clean and find what more poor eyes can't find lol,, I was admiring the tea towel curtains right away,, they remind me of tea towel fabric from fabricaland when I worked there but no bee;s,, I was wondering if you painted the bee's on then I read the explanation lol,, sorry to hear you've both been sick but thank goodness you are on the recovery,,I was surprised the price of your plant,, thats a great deal I love them so much but have never ad luck with them at all, I always just dry the blossoms, I gave up trying to plant them,, take care,,
ReplyDeleteIt looks very nice, Kim. A real change-up from your country roots. I like all the looks you have had for your various kitchens. So glad to read that you are feeling some better.
ReplyDeleteI love your curtains!! Your kitchen is so nice. I am so sorry you have been sick. I hope you feel better and have all of your energy back soon. I can't believe how expensive flowers are there, but I love the color of that hydrangea. Our daughter works at a flower shop and they just throw out the hydrangeas they don't sell so Emilie brings them here. That is how we have so many. Just don't be very nice to them and they like mottled sunshine and never trim them. It took my years and years to grow them and now mine are over five feet tall. :)
ReplyDeleteWe all like your paired down kitchen, especially those darling curtains!
ReplyDeleteWell done Kim.
Your kitchen towel curtains are really pretty. A pared down kitchen is what I gravitate, too, although I always enjoy looking at and being in fuller kitchens.
ReplyDeleteI bought a pot of hydrangeas for Easter, too, in palest pinks, and they look lovely in my front hallway. I hope to keep them going until I can plant them outdoors, too.
Sweet cozy kitchen, love the round table.Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteYou have a very pretty kitchen, Kim, and I really like your tea towel curtains. What a cute idea! Love the white round table and chairs...did you paint them? My daughter just bought a similar looking set...used...and I have suggested she might want to consider painting as the finish isn't the best.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you've been under the weather and it's nice to hear that you're beginning to feel better now!
Your kitchen looks lovely and so do your flowers. The flowers are such a pretty color. I'm sorry to hear you weren't feeling well, but I'm glad to hear you are doing better now.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen re-do is lovely, and I love the curtains. I'm glad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is beautiful. The flu bug has been nasty this year. Hope you are on the mend. Spring has to come soon. Beckie
ReplyDeleteI would love sitting at your table and enjoy the beauty of handy work and I am sure it smells like home made bread - wink!. It looks so pretty too and to have flowers around bring that added touch..Lovely photos.. Glad your up and feeling better.. Scott shoulder is doing so well after surgery last Friday..Thrilled to death about his recovery.. thanks again for your prayers. Hugs.. PS LOVE your curtain!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim! Sorry for getting here so late, but I'm trying to catch up with everybody and well, you know how that goes! ;)
ReplyDeleteI think your kitchen is adorable. Your table reminds me a little bit of mine.
Being sick is the pits! I do hope by now you're 'cookin' with gas'?!
