Everyday Tim and I take a walk on the country road behind our home.
Today it was an especially sunny day so I grabbed my camera so I could get a few shots to share with all of you, my friends.
Let's begin our journey by walking up the short hill right behind our home that leads to the ski hill road.
On our right we pass the rusted old gate that was once used to prevent anyone from driving onto the ski hill road from our alley.
Now that we're at the ski hill road let's go right.
At the end of the ski hill road is a horse coral, complete with beautiful rustic barns.
Don't you just love the old rusted, galvanized roofing?
It sits at the base of the small mountain.
If we turn left we are now approaching the ski hill.
This is the ski hill looking up from the road.
It doesn't look very steep, but it is!
There is also a very nice hiking trail off of the road that leads to a lake.
It's really a beautiful path.
Look at all of the leaves on the path way. I don't think it will be much longer until they are all fallen off of the trees here!
Lastly, we end our hike downtown at beautiful Lake Manitouwadge.
Are you worn out yet?
I sure am!
Now I'm ready for a good cup of tea and my favorite chair.
Oh, and that chocolate energy bar to help restore me...
Wow! Kimberly, your photos are gorgeous! What beautiful scenery and colour in your backyard. It looks like a lovely walk on a sunny fall day. We've had beautiful weather here and the week looks great too. I hope you have a good week ahead. Blessings, Pam

ReplyDeletePamela that was wonderful! Like you, I love a leaf carpeted path but at the same time note a deep leaf carpet equals fall color leaving...mixed feelings!
ReplyDeleteI like to tote a small thermos full of hot tea or cider, some fall fruit, a bit of cheese and a spicy cookie or two with me on forest walks. The mini picnic at a particularly wonderful view is my "I am rich beyond measure!" moment!
Keep the autumn shots coming.

Oh glorious! Thank you for taking us along with you. Do you ever take a thermos of tea as Jill suggested on my post? A woodland tea sounds so pleasant.

Kimberly,
ReplyDeleteThat's it! After visiting the gloriously glowing fall forests of my North American friends here in blog land, I am officially diagnosing myself as 'severely homesick'! How lucky you are to have all this splendour at your doorstep! Being further north in Ontario, I guess you are further along the 'colour wheel' of the season. Thank you for thinking of us and sharing the beauty of your wonderland, (even though it hurts!;))
