BE WARNED
I want to tell you a little something I discovered last night...
This only applies to you if you have Google Plus.
I was browsing through my photos on Google Plus and there were so many photos there that I didn't need any longer, since they are all from my previous blog postings, so I started deleting them.
Yes, you probably already guessed it...
I was unknowingly deleting them from my previous blog post!
This is the warning!
Do not delete your Google Plus photos because they are actually all of your blog photos!!!
Oh, I know that many (probably most) of you don't need to be warned of this.
You were smart enough to figure this out!
But I have often wondered when I have seen blank photos on other blogs why the pictures were no longer there.
Well now I think that the blogger may have unknowingly deleted their photos as I started to do.
So just in case there is even one person out there that doesn't know this, I want to save you the pain of learning this the hard way as I did!!
Now, on a more fun note...
Would anyone like to guess at what these three objects were used for?
I found them in my basement and photographed them some time ago to see if anyone could identify them for me.
I do now know what there use was, but I'm curious to see if any of you can guess!
Thanks for the warning. Did not know this!
ReplyDeleteThanks for telling us, Blessings Francine.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the warning...I always need this kind of info. hee heee.
ReplyDeleteNot a clue what you have there!
I did the very same thing, it was a oops moment for sure, I have no idea what you measure with those, they look old, I think they use those in lumber yards,
ReplyDeleteI can't figure out Google Plus..so I went back to the orginal.Hmm..I don't know..
ReplyDeleteThanks for the warning! I have no idea about those things you've photographed! I'm curious though!
ReplyDeleteAre they hemming measuring sticks?? Kimberly, I do not dare to remove any photos...I for one would not know what the heck I was doing. I tried to delete some photo files once, the picture were gone but the folder jackets remained and said I could not take they out. HMMM. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteThanks for the warning, I would have been quite upset to lose blog photos! I have no idea what those are!
ReplyDeleteI never knew that thank you for that advice. What wonderful goodies to find in your basement. I have no idea but would they be something to be outside to measure the depth of snow? They wood looks so pretty.
ReplyDeleteMy husband said they be for measuring liquid in a storage tank. Very cool though. Also about the photos...if you delete them from Picasa they may be missing on a post, too. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWell, much thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to know, and will save us frustration in the future.
I'm not certain what the sticks are used for.... as I can't tell how long they are.
Can't wait til you tell us :)
thank you for the warning as I didn't know that at all. Are they to measure the depth of the snow?
ReplyDeleteI haven't figured out the advantage of using Google+, so there's no danger of me deleting anything there, LOL. Hmm, not sure what those measuring devices are for. Perhaps for a tailor to measure clothing for alterations?
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I didn't go to Google+ as I don't know how to use it but if I do I'll know about the photos. I got a notice somewhere that Picasa is now part of Google+ but I haven't figured out just how or what to do. I don't like changes. I thought the same as Donna, that the rulers might be for measuring skirt length. Now I'm curious for the correct use. :) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteOh. :-( What a sad lesson to learn. But you made it a lot easier on the rest of us by your experience!
ReplyDeleteYou found those in the basement? They were to measure the depth of the water standing in the basement in the springtime? ;-) No idea. But I want to know!
Aha! I bet Lavender Dreamer is right. For measuring oil in the old oil tanks that used to live in our basements?
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the reasons I have and never will switch to Google + or Chrome , they tend to control your stuff way to much . Thanks to Papa here who is a computer geek and a programmer as a hobby we knew all the ins and outs of these newer Google's Thanks for the info though . Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteThanks for the warning! I have no idea what the stick looking things are... thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I'm a new follower :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is also true of Picasa Web Albums where photos are stored for those Blogger folk who have
ReplyDeletenot joined Google +.
The sticks...is someone measuring oil in the tank?
Thanks for the warning. The sticks are very interesting and it has been fun reading others' comments.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting me this morning.
Have a great evening.
I think they are tailor's measuring sticks, for different hemline lengths, to get the hem exactly straight. My Mum had one many years ago, and have no idea where it went to, but think it had a wider foot, Cheers,Jean.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up, Kimberly, and sorry to hear that you had to learn the hard way!
ReplyDeleteHave absolutely no clue what these were used for, but some of the guesses above sound pretty logical, like Diane's!
Have a great week!
Poppy
I am guessing old hem measuring sticks? Thanks for the warning about the photos!
ReplyDeleteNo idea about the sticks! Interesting that they have a base and/or handle???????
ReplyDeleteJudy
I don't know what those sticks are for, but I'd guess they are used to measure for hems?
ReplyDeleteGood to know, thanks. I wonder if they were used to measure snow lol.
ReplyDeleteDid NOT know this so good to know! Sorry it happened to you though, but it was nice you warned us. Have no idea what those sticks are. Obviously to measure something, but what? lol
ReplyDeleteSheesh, I'm so sorry that happened to you. You are so kind to share this to prevent it from happening to one of us. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteI am guessing "measurement tools for tailoring?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads-up..
Hugs
I don't use Google+ but found out the hard way with Picasa. I'm sorry you lost some photos.
ReplyDeleteThat stinks! I would imagine this only is true for bloggers who use blogger, not another platform like Wordpress?
