Hi Friends!
I'm sure you've probably noticed I've been either showing photos taken from the past or making silly signs lately!
There is a reason for this...
Yes, my camera has bit the dust.
I bought this just two years ago on Amazon and I'm not sure if two years is a normal life span for a camera when one uses it nearly every day or I just got a lemon.
But whatever the case, I've decided that I'm not buying one this time without seeing it and talking to a camera salesperson first.
I live five hours from any store that sales cameras and since we just recently made the long trip, it may be a while until I get around to purchasing a new one.
I wanted to let you know what's going on so if you don't see me around as often you don't think I've quit blogging!
I'll still pop over to visit you, of course.
Blessings-Kimberly
Oh no! Sorry to hear about your camera woes!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, what's a girl without her camera to do.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you will get it all sorted out soon.
Argh! Two years is NOT the expected life-time of a digital camera. I think I had my Nikon D90 for about 5-6 years, and it was still working just fine when I sold it. I took well over 50,000 photos on it, so it got plenty of use! And the used equipment dealer gave me top dollar for it because it rated out as "excellent+".
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you need any advice or have questions! I just fired off a big e-mail to Lorrie (Fabric, Paper, Thread) on camera equipment because her camera is broken too.
Sorry about your camera. I was surprised to learn that a digital camera usually only last four years. Not sure what kind you have but mine died at the four year mark...sheesh.
ReplyDeleteDid you send it back to the manufacturer? They can normally fix anything.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your camera. I sent my Canon to a repair shop in Chicago and was very pleased with the cost, which included the shipping, and the quality of the work done. They even sent me the shipping materials so it was easy to do and a lot cheaper than a new camera.
ReplyDeleteThat seems like a short lifespan for one of those cameras. You know I have barely used my camera since I got an iPhone.
ReplyDeleteThis is not good news, maybe it was older and more used than advertised. B&H, and Adorama, both regularly mentioned on the forum " Ugly Hedgehog" sell new and refurbished and have very good reputations. Take your time, hold many models till you find one that fits your hand ( and wallet). The sky is literally the limit for price and accessories, we'll wait till you are in the camera mode again,. Hugs,Jean.
ReplyDeleteKimberly, So sorry about your camera. They are like cell phones are they not-just can't live without them. So, even if you don't have photos, you can still blog. I often do but realize my posts might get boring. Oh well, we still want to know what you are up to.
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening.
Hugs, Noreen
Bummer!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your camera troubles.
I love to read your blog, with or without pictures though, so I hope to see some new posts :)
Sorry to hear it broke down. No I bet you got some kind of lemon, cause a camera usually lasts a lot longer than two years! Hope you can get a new one soon!
ReplyDeleteKimberly, I know it is a big pain to not have your newest photos to share. I got this new Canon camera and wish I had just got a new one that would fit into my purse. It would be easier to tote around. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteI think you got a lemon. Now way should it have bitten the dust this soon. You don't use it like a professional would, and I'm sure you took care of it. I'd be contacting the maker about this.
ReplyDeleteAwww... I hate when that happens.
ReplyDeleteI have a camera that needs to be cleaned on the inside, some of my pictures are grainy! I've been using my iPhone!
Well, I always like to read what you have to say...with or without pictures. If you post some older pictures... oh, well. They're still pretty! :)
Maybe you're like me...and you have a ton of pictures, that aren't all that great...you could use one of those programs that make it look artsy! Either way, don't let that stop you from blogging.
I know you're not stopping...but, I'd miss you.
Pat
AW, Kimberly, that is so disappointing. I don't know what I'd do without mine. Does your cell phone take decent photos? You may have to go that route for a while. Sorry about your camera woes. :( Hugs, Pam
ReplyDeleteThat just doesn't seem right to only last two years. The little camera I have is at least 15, yes, I know it is really old. It was my son's camera.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get something to snap pictures but you also do a very nice job of posting other things too.
Oh dear, a five hour drive is an awful long way to go, but we sure need our cameras when we blog! I hope you can get a new one soon!
ReplyDeleteOh no!! Sorry to hear about your phone. Soo frustrating. I do hope you blog anyway even if you don't post pictures.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your camera, I hope you can get a replacement soon. In the meantime, just take an old photo and crop it or use some editing features to make it look different. Take care!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the camera!
ReplyDeleteKeep blogging!!!!!
Hugs!
Oh no! I hope you can get a new one soon! Blessings, Valerie
