Don't you just love old frames? My favorite frames are the ones with either the oak or the maple leaves on the corners of them. I have only one such frame, but I'm hoping to come up with some
creative way of making my own without doing any carving. But I'll save that for a later post!
The weather here is windy and rainy. Pratically all of the leaves are off the trees now. DH had to go down to the beach and drag our board walk up to higher ground, as the waves are crashing
midway up it. We lost a portion of the boardwalk last year and don't want that to happen again this year! This is a view from the waters edge looking up to our home.
Do you have a sense of humor? Oh, I hope you do! I just couldn't resist when I saw this Bad
Boy pumpkin on my friend Joycee's Granny Mountain post this morning. She was kind enough to let me borrow the photo to share with you.I bet you've never seen a pumpkin mooner before. I sure haven't. I laughed and laughed! I hope it gives you a little chuckle too!
On another subject, did you notice I have over 100 followers now? I want to plan a give away to
celebrate! I will announce what it will be next week. I can't wait-I've always wanted to do a drawing.Since my SIL is arriving today , I need to get busy cooking and all that good stuff. I'm making chicken pot pie, carrot salad, fried apples, and blueberry muffins. So I'd better get on it!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend-Kimberly
That pumpkin mooner was just too cute!
ReplyDeleteI like the old frames very much, and have a collection that I use for my needlework. I'm always on the lookout at the Salvation Army and elsewhere for interesting old frames.
Love the frames and the mooning pumpkin boy!!!!
ReplyDeleteToo funny.
The wind is blowing and the leaves are all off the trees and one is in danger of getting his pants blown off? Does that pretty much...ahem...cover it? Ha! You're a nut.
ReplyDeleteI do love those old frames. One used to be able to find them everywhere for a song and now it's impossible. If I find one even close to a song, I'm going to grab it. I'll be interested in your tutorial!
LOL on the pumpkin! Those frames are neat. Enjoy SIL's visit - the food sounds incredible!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 101 followers! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteI love those frames too. I grabbed a couple for myself back when I could find them for a decent price.
I like hearing about your life on the lake.
Keep up the good work!

ReplyDeleteThe leaf frames are pretty. I like little ornamental details like that.
ReplyDeleteLooks like someone left a trail of flowers on your boardwalk!
I love the pumpkin mooner--haha!
Congratulations on 100 followers! I've been stuck on 91 forever! hahaha! :D
I love those old frames! And Mr. Pumpkin Mooner has been around facebook too. Pretty funny! Enjoy your dinner with your son. It sounds really delicious. :)
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkin guy is so funny, my husband laughed and laughed. My son wanted me to make one with our pumpkins and my daughter was saying oh no you aren't!!
ReplyDeletePeople are so talented. I wondered if your weather was going to be bad. I have been reading the weather reports.
Your frames are very pretty. I like your board walk too.
I hope the weather doesn't get too crazy.
The mooning pumpkin guy is pretty priceless!
ReplyDeleteI love your antique picture frames! They are simply stunning... I've seen similar ones in magazine or online but never in person.
Happy fall,
~Chris
Too funny :) XoL
ReplyDeleteA pumpkin mooner! -giggles- Yes, I think I've seen a pic of one before. But this one is ..... very, very cheeky. LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteWondering how you haul that board walk up to higher ground? Seems it would be very heavy. Perhaps you winch it up, by pulling it, with a Jeep or truck???
Enjoy your company!

Oh my word. That is sooo funny!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the frames.. I have one put away, now I know what I'll do with it. I love the leaves. Of course, the impact won't be quite as strong with just one, but...
Congrats on your following! This is a great place to visit so it's no surprise to me!
