Wildlife Sightings

Yesterday Tim drove me to the Alaskan border for a Mother's Day dinner
at Buckshot Betty's. We know the owner from our very first trip out here six years ago.
On the way there we saw a moose, an eagle, and a grizzly on our way home.
I didn't have the camera with me, of course!
Today we went to Whitehorse (I hurt my back and had to see a chiropractor).
On the way there we again saw a grizzly and elk also. This time I had the
camera, but was in too much pain to care whether I got a photo, or not!
But as luck would have it, on the way back while driving around Kluane Lake,
we came upon a 'blond' bear. This time I was ready. I had my camera out-
husband jumped out of the car to take a picture and it wouldn't work.  Now
this is the camera I was supposed to have replaced on our way out here.
But I had it set in my mind that I was going to buy only one certain camera,
and since I didn't find that camera, I bought none. Needless to say there was
a little Xo&#@X being said over missing that blond bear, because they
are rather rare you know. Even in the Yukon.Well, I am exaggerating about the words that were expressed. Hubby didn't really say them-but I felt he
was thinking them. So next trip in town I will be coming home with some
type of a new camera.
There has been so much going on  the last couple of weeks.
But I'll save it for another post-I don't want to get too
lengthy here.
I'm sorry I haven't been able to visit as much as I would like to.
Now that we have clientele at the resort the owner has no choice
but to turn on the wi-fi. Hopefully I can pop by more regularly
again now.
Wishing you  all a good week,

  1. Kimberly,

There is nothing worse than pain in your back. I hope the chiropractor was able to relieve the pain. Don't work so hard!!! I can't wait to see what type of pictures you will be taking later when you have your new camera.
    Take care,
    Sandy

  3. Sorry about your back, I know how painful it can be. You will be thrilled with a new camera, can't wait to hear what you get. My internet was down for a week and I felt like I was sent back to the Stone Ages. So far how are you liking the move??

  4. Oh wow, how exciting! I've always wanted to see a moose. I'm not too sure I'd want to see a grizzly, certainly not up close. I never heard of blond bears -- I'm off to Google it now!

  7. I do not like the sounds of back pain requiring a visit to the chiroman. John is on a waiting list for same. Back pain is such a misery.

A blond bear...hope that you have another opportunity when you have a new camera. Are you able to order one on Amazon? That way you can get whatever you'd like.

Stay well, take care, have fun...

  8. I am so sorry that you hurt your back. I suppose the worst part is that you can't just run down the street to the doctor. Good luck on finding a camera...and I will believe you DID see a blond bear even if you don't have the pictures to prove it! xo Diana

That's a shame you missed those photo ops but I'm sure there will be more in your future. I'm glad you have now got a more reliable internet service. Take care of yourself. Hugs, Pamela

I hope you get your camera up and working soon, I would love to have seen that blond bear. It sounds like you get to see things that I have and will only ever read about in books.

  21. I hope your back is feeling better by now. It's a shame that you weren't able to get pictures of the animals you saw, but I bet it was exciting seeing them just the same.

  22. Sorry about your back pain. I can feel your pain. Been there many years ago . I will pray for you .

I live all year round up north .

Right now we see Moose more then we want. They are big monsters and they are very take charge. Move out of sight when they stand on the highway and the byways. They are 10 feet tall. My hubby seen alot this week.

We have the black bears. They live around my area and wonder out of the bush with the young ones. So we have to make sure no food or bird hangers or in sight. Or look out.

My daughter got a new camera for Mothers day and wow when she shot her son throwing water in the pool. The camera took that action of that water . Awesome. So looking forward for that G. bear later.

I've had a hard time keeping up with blogging and reading them as I need to keep working outside before it gets too hot here. I am sending you something as sin as I get my act together here! LOL!
