Hello Friends

source
Hello, my friends. I know it's been a while since
I've posted. But......
This has been my life lately-up to my neck in hot
water. We've all been there at some time or the other.  It's not necessarily huge, gigantic worries,
just little niggling ones that try to steal ones joy.
source
I have noticed many bloggers taking breaks lately and have strongly considered doing so myself. I
have so many projects going on right now I need to
get accomplished. But I've made the decision not to quit blogging altogether, but to try to balance my blogging time better.
I'll keep you posted on how  well that all works out!:)
Here is a project that I am working on for our bedroom. I'm not doing a total makeover, just a
little tweaking here and there. This reindeer border
was part of an old curtain that I've had for many years. I'm so thrilled that I finally came up with a use for it.
While I've been working inside Tim has been out side working. Here is one of the rotted post he's removed from our deck.
Next Tim had to rent a floor sander to sand the
once painted deck. It's a lot of hard work and he's
not finished yet. He's are just hoping he'll get a warm enough day to stain it before cold weather is here to stay!
While taking a photo of the sunset, I got a reflection of the living room. It's a little blurred, but I love it!
Sometimes the camera gives us a most pleasant surprise when we least expect it.
That's what I've been up to lately.
I'm joining Deborah Jean for Farmgirl Friday.
Drop by if you have the time!

  1. Gosh, it seems like so many people lately who I enjoy the blogs they do ....are "taking a break" or have "left" blogging.
It is kind of a sad thing....I personally feel a loss of the ones I've followed for a long time and they have "put it away".
But, yet at the same time...I get it.
There is LIFE out there that needs to be lived. We need to for sure balance out those priorities in life that make us happiest.
SURE...blogging is not my "end of, do all"
It just helps me fill many long cold winter days.

  4. I was just thinking today that I hadn't seen a post from you lately Kimberly. I'm glad you are ok and just taking a break. I love the materials you have chosen for your bedroom. Perfect for winter! The view through your window with the reflection is wonderful. Very cozy looking. I hope the deck can get stained before the cold and snow arrive. That's quite a job. It's nice to find balance with blogging time. I spend way too much time blogging and need to back off too! Take care. Hugs, Pam

  6. Kim, I was just thinking of you earlier today and wondering where you'd run off to. Glad that you posted to say that you're up to your neck in hot water. Seems preferable somehow to cold. I also love how the camera picked up on the reflections...what a great scene you enjoy from your cozy chairs.

  7. Hi Kim.. Such lovely photos .. I am wondering what it is you are making with the gorgeous fabric? The border is sweet..
I am thinking that folks are just into face book more than blogging..
I do not do face book but yet you can get in a slump sometimes, too..
    Take care, my friend..

  10. I totally understand how you are feeling about real life getting in the way of blogging life. I've put my blog on hold for awhile as I work at re-establishing my website. I'll be updating from time to time but not as frequently as I used to. It seems after a while I run out of things to share and with winter coming there won't be much gardening. I'll still be reading all my favourite blogs.

  12. Hey there sweet friend, it's great to see you. I know what you mean about taking a break. There's all kinds of work to be done and so little time to complete it. When I get on the computer is when I take a break or am finished for the day.
I love the deer material edging you have there. Red is one of my favorite colors.
Your husband had done a beautiful job on the deck with sanding things down.
What a beautiful picture, is that Lake Superior?

  13. I think we can all say we spend too much time sitting at the computer instead of getting project completed. I've try to restrict my time but let's just say I'm still working on it. I guess I love visiting blogs! Simply put!

  14. You're not alone! Your project looks fun though. I love the reindeer material and the pattern you have there. Fall is a very busy time of year for me too. Battening down all the hatches for Winter, literally getting supplies in and doctor appointments so I don't have to drive in the Winter here. It's usually nice but the docs are over an hour away so the weather can change while you're there! And I live in the South! LOL! But we get more ice than anything and that's worse than snow especially in these hills....they wouldn't find you for days even if you did survive the fall! LOL!
I love your view always and yes, the reflection is so cozy! Let us see the finished project when you're done!

  15. I know how you feel. I've been blog breaking and may do it again, it's just so necessary sometimes. It's hard to stay away and I don't plan to quit, but I've got so much to do and it's my fault since I've let things go too long. Procrastinator...that's me!

You have a beautiful view from your living room! Love the reflection.

    Take care!

  16. We're hoping for a couple of warmer days too. We still have one of our decks to stain. I have considered taking a break from blogging or stopping all together but can't seem to take that step yet. I do get on less often maybe once in the morning at that is it. It can become consuming. Hope you continue, but understand the need for a break:)

  17. Dear Kimberly... I love the fabric for your sewing project.. and that image of the reflection of your living room in the lake just beckons a break from blogland if nothing else does! Just look where you are!
I agree, blogging is a creative outlet, but it can eat up additional creative time needed to get those " real life" project done... This time of year especially when us girls just love to feather our nests...
thank you so much for sharing your post and come on back any ole' time! Happy sewing!

  22. What a delight...ahhh! I can almost hear the peace and quiet! You live in a beautiful place and I admire your new lifestyle. I grew up as a Oregon Coast country kid, but as the wife of a career military Naval Officer, I have lived in some pretty populated areas as an adult. I yearn for the simple life once again. When I was in college I spent a summer by myself on a tower on top of a mountain as a forest lookout with no electricity, running water, plumbing or people. It was a respite from all the hustle and bustle of college life. I only left the mountain once the entire summer. Reading your post is so wonderful!
Thanks for adding me to your list of blogging sisters. I have added to yours, too.
    Blessings,
    Carolynn

  25. I take blogging breaks, so to speak, because we travel a lot. I don't want folks to think that I have let my blog go or else I am snubbing them if I don't visit and leave a comment. I try to schedule posts in advance, but it's hard to do all the work and do last minute preparations!

I don't know how some folks post every day. A lot of time goes into mine because of my photography. So I'm lucky if I post three times a week.

The red fabrics look great! I adore that strip with the reindeer. Can't wait to see what you're creating!
