Fragments of a Friday

DSCF6466
Remember these?
This is the last Fall bouquet of Wildflowers I gathered before the snow and the cold weather hit Northern Ontario.

It makes me happy just to gaze upon them again!

DSCF6472

If it were possible (and I was rich enough) I would send a bouquet to all of my blogging friend, just to put a smile on your face today.

I have even decided that I will splurge next week and buy a bouquet of flowers for myself.
If  the store has any, that is.

I am ending the week here with projects. There are always projects around here.
I keep a long list of them and then check them off as I get them accomplished.
Do you?

Funny thing is that they never get checked off on the day that they are supposed to be finished, sometimes not even the same week that they are supposed to be finished!

                                            Lark
Now here is a project that is soon to be finished.
But when it is done I am going to be especially sad.

Tim and I have been watching Lark Rise to Candleford each evening together.

I know I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating.
This is the best written and the best performed period piece that I have ever seen!

I end up fighting back the tears nearly every program.

It is just that darn heart warming, ladies!

The characters personalities are so rich. And after watching a show daily since Christmas, I feel like I will be saying “goodbye” to very good friends when it is finished.

Oh, I know that sounds crazy.

But don’t judge until you have watched the series yourself....

Anyway, enough of that…Today’s project is to work on a curtain for the office/sewing room and then on one for our back entry door.

How about you, what are your weekend plans?

Do you watch the Super Bowl?
Whatever you do, I hope your weekend is a good one!
Kimberly

  3. Hubby and I are always looking for a good series of shows like that. We get most of them off of netflix. I will look for this there, if not where did you get it? Enjoy your week-end Kim, and thank you for the prayers...I so appreciate them!

  4. Thanks for sharing your bouquet with us. I sure would love to go out and pick one myself...but hey, there is snow on the ground and more coming our way. I think I would like that show you are watching. I can't stand Pro football on TV...I will watch college games some times. Just bits and pieces. Enjoy your weekend. xoxo,Susie

  9. Kimberly, just seeing your lovelies makes me smile! I am off to the grocers to buy two bundles of pink blush roses. My daughter is hosting a bridal shower this evening and I told her I would buy the flowers for some jars that she sprayed gold. The bride to be's colors are gold and pale pink. I will share them in a post soon. Larkrise to Candleford is one of my favorite series! I too cry and have watched it two times. Ready for a third. I do like crossing things off my list. Mine is a mental list because I seldom write it down.
    hugs,
    Jann

  10. I love Lark Rise to Candleford but they stopped showing it here and I only saw about 7 or 8 episodes. I'd love to see it from beginning to end as I'm sure there were things I was missing.
Today my priorities were post office, library and grocery store which I got done but tonight is making cookies and then Sewing With Friends. Wish me luck!
Yes, I'll watch the Superbowl until Downton Abbey and Doc Martin come on unless they're reruns. I'll be channel switching. I got some groceries today to make some goodies for the game! You have a great weekend too.
P.S. Did you ever see Wind at My Back series? I loved that and it was Canadian.
Also, I didn't me you were impatient in the negative context...I really thought you were smart as you got what you wanted lots faster than I will! LOL!

  12. I've not heard of that series, Kimberly, but it does look interesting. Is it from a TV show? Where did you find the DVD's? We aren't into football so not watching the big game on Sunday. So much hype eh? Have a nice weekend and enjoy your flowers.

  13. Thank you for the flowers, they are very pretty (wink). Yes, Super Bowl, but I only watch for the commercials. I also get emotionally invested in a good book. Blessings

  15. I felt very similarly when I watched the final episode of Larkrise to Candleford. It helped me through a grieving season and I thanked God for it. No, I doubt that I will actually watch the Super Bowl. I do find your last bouquet of summer a very cheery sight today!

  16. Kimberly,

Beautiful flowers my friend, these put a smile on my face too :-)

I love fresh flowers anytime of the year. Hubby once and a while surprises me with flowers. Most of the time, I will pick flowers from my garden, or go to the farmers market and pick some up.

My list of things gets tackled slowly.

  17. I loved Larkrise and have it on DVD - have watched it more than once.
Flowers - so lovely at this time of year.
My husband will watch the Superbowl but I will most likely knit!

  18. I am not familiar with the show.

    The flowers are beautiful.

Just finished recording all receipts for the year for taxes. I was glad to mark that off my list.

I, too, have had the urge to change curtains. Maybe it is a sign spring is coming.

    Enjoy your weekend.

  19. I watched maybe one or two episodes. I need to go back and give it a go as I always enjoy those things that you like. Your flowers looks so happy. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  20. Your flowers are lovely. Flowers can brighten a whole room, can't they. I've never seen that show before.

  21. How sweet that you would love to give us all a bouquet of flowers to brighten our days! Your arrangement is lovely, especially with cheerful yellow flowers. I think mixed bouquets in a glass jar are pure country charm!

I've never heard of that series before. Sounds intriguing! And yes, I keep a running to-do list. Funny thing how those due dates keep getting revised, LOL. I always have plenty of tasks to do, it seems, even though we are now retired. We spent the weekend getting signatures from neighbors for a neighborhood petition. And there were housework tasks, phone calls, and an organization project on my computer (contacts list - what a mess). Today I need to cut DH's hair, get a blog post done, and start on preparing income taxes. If I'm lucky I'll get one of those three things actually accomplished, LOL.

  22. I am hugging you to death -- for the flowers = I love love flowers and these are delightfully pretty. I don't get enough of flowers in my life... could I ever -? -Wink!

    Super Bowl have no interest..

I agree with you about Lark Rise to Candleford. When you talked about it before I went straight way and got it... And finished watching it all already..I am missing it - I even found myself thinking about them through the day -- wished there were more of them..

    Hugs

  23. I watched Lark Rise to Candleford last year the entire series on DVD and felt the same way you do that I was losing family/friends when it was over. I felt like I was part of their little village and did not want it to end.
