Camp and Cottage Is Moving

Camp and Cottage Living is Moving
No, I'm not moving but my blog is moving to Wordpress.
After nearly four years with Blogger I am finally ready to take this big step.
And believe me, it feels like a really big step-kind of like I'm stepping off the edge of a mountain!
I had never mentioned it before, but I actually had this new blog site designed over a year ago.I just couldn't muster the courage it took to make this big move yet!
See how good I am at keeping a secret?

I'm not sure I would have moved to Wordpress even now, but I had already paid a blog designer a year ago to create a whole new blog face for me and then move my blog also.
This was obviously the needed incentive to move me forward.
I couldn't leave the designer hanging any longer either.
She had already been very patient with me.
So it was move it or lose it.

I'm not fully informed yet on just how all of this will work. I do know my blog designer is transferring everything from this blog to the new one, so nothing is lost. But I need to find out how to save my followers somehow...
Because, after all, you are all the only reason I blog!
In these four years of blogging I have truly come to feel a real connection with all of you.
You have become my friends!

In all honesty,  you know far more about my life and my family than my next door neighbours do!
And vice versa, I bet.

If you are wondering why I am showing you pictures from my previous home, it's because this is where it all began-right there on the lake.
It probably sounds silly, but it was a big step for me the first time I clicked on that 'publish' box.
And now this is a big, scary step for me too.
I am hoping and praying and believing, my friends, that you will be following me on this move!
Just pretend I'm moving to the Yukon again.
You've  followed me there and back a few times, haven't you?
I am going to leave you with this news for now.
I have a lot planned for the new blog site and my four year blogging anniversary is coming within two weeks also...
But I won't go into all of that today!
Please let me know what you think of my news and I will be back with more details as soon as I get the definite on it all.
Blessing to all-Kimberly

  1. Congrats on the move. I can't wait to see the knew design. You will like the use of WP so much better than Blogger once you become familiar with it.

  2. Congratulations on the move to wordpress!! I am looking forward to your new blog design!

  3. Congrats and I hope you enjoy the move to Wordpress! I can't wait to see the new blog! Good luck.

  4. That's a big step- I hope it all goes well! I've always heard that you lose the blog followers when you make the move but there may be a way to save it that I haven't heard about. One gal I knew that did this lost a large audience but it eventually grew back. Just make sure you keep a post on the old blog with a notice that directs people to your new page- that way the ones that didn't know will find out and be able to follow the link to find you again. I thought about moving to wordpress but I just didn't want to spend the money! I've never had any real issues with blogger so I guess I am content. Hope you are doing well! Liz

  5. I would follow you anywhere!

  6. Congrats! Just take me along and I'll be a happy camper!! Hugs!!

  7. Well I will follow for sure. What I don't know about it all would fill volumes though so hope I don't somehow lose you in the process!! Exciting for you and looking forward to seeing new site!

  8. I'd follow you nearly anywhere even to Wordpress. (I often have trouble commenting at WordPress blogs, but I will be reading!)

  9. Good Morning Kimberly, you just let me know where you are and how to follow and I'll be there:) I can't wait to see your new blog and the changes that you have made with it.
    Have a lovely week,
    Connie :)

  10. The photos are beautiful. Good for you! I can't wait to see your new blog.

  11. Nothing to do but take the plunge! It will all work out and of course I'll come along :>) The best advice I can give is to leave a link on this blog directing to the wordpress blog? That way everyone knows where to go...but you probably already have that all worked out. You are right we do know more about each other than our neighbors do! Funny how that works isn't it? I can't wait to see what you will do with the new one!

  12. Lovely to see where it all started, and I will follow you on the new adventure, and I agree, leave this one for a while with a link, and everyone will know where the path goes. Be brave, after all you travel North, then South again, so many times, this should be all on a straight road, with no snow drifts. Hugs, Jean.

  13. Super- just give me the link and I'll follow ya!

  14. I'm not sure how to follow.

Place a link in a post and maybe we can jump from there.

  15. Congrats to you, good luck with the move.Blessings Francine.

  16. Kimberly,

Can't wait to see your new site on word press. Once over, please let us know what you think. I'm processing the thought of making a move myself.

  17. Hope your move all goes well and don't worry.. You can run but you can't hide... LOL.. Not that you want to.. grin.. I am sure everyone will continue to follow you and I know what you mean that it is all scary... God bless..

  18. Love * Love * Love * Love * all the pictures of the Lake!
Moving is difficult in real life and blog life, too.
But I have to ask, why the move?
And to answer you question, YES!!! I will keep on following, even if I need to sign up again.

Looking forward to seeing what you have planned.

  19. Well, I'm so happy for you! Is there a reason I should know about that I should move too? I had a busy Spring so I am now trying to catch up with all my blogging friends.YOur photos are gorgeous especially that last one of the purple sunset over the lake! that's prize winning!

  20. Wow. A lot of bloggers are moving over to WordPress. I hope it all goes smoothly and will look forward to seeing the new look of your blog. I hope I don't lose you too! I'll be looking for you. All the best Kimberly!

  21. Good luck on the new blog site. I'm looking forward to seeing your new design.
