The Second Spring

from the cottage journal
I couldn't have said it better.
Autumn is a second spring
when every leaf is a flower.
Albert Camus
******************************************
I spent most of the day clearing the yard of small tree shoots that were blocking my view of the lake.
It was so good to get out on this beautiful day, work outside, and feel like I had accomplished something.
And what were you up to today?

  1. That's a great job done. You don't want anything spoiling that beautiful view! My girlfriend invited me down to visit and we went for a long walk. It was really sunny and hot like summer. So enjoyable. I also stayed for supper. On the way home I bought gas before it goes up 6 cents tonight! Crazy eh?? It was a beautiful day for sure.

  4. Hi Kimberly, could have not said it better myself, love Autumn. I did the same as you today, yard work, raked the fallen leaves and tucked in my flower beds for old man winter arrives. Blessings Francine.

  5. That 40 hr a week job took up most of my day. Gosh, can't I ever retire??? Since getting home I took a little walk around the yard and thinking I sure am enjoying this weather! Yes, the autumn flowers are falling.

  6. I am sure that it was so nice to get something done. I am so glad you can see the lake.
What have I done today, oh you know the usual. Fed animals, chickens and people. Cleaned up and now I am here. Just normal. :) I would like to sit and stare at your lake. Have a wonderful Thursday Kimberly,

I love thinking of you back at your own sweet cabin, getting ready for the winter and all of those pretty photos to come. xo

  8. Working on the property. Cutting grass, weed whacking, picking up branches and trash that blew in.

  9. Wow, I haven't been reading blogs much in the past couple of months and I come back and look at all the changes going on with you!

And all of your great photos, I have been missing out! I am reading back through and I plan on getting all caught up. :-)

  10. Let's see... I don't remember yesterday. ☺ That's a good job done before they get too big to tug out and block the view big time. I don't mind a framed view, but a blocked one annoys me. (That's why my state annoys me. We're all about lake societies up here and Big Brother's watching. Believe me. you'd not have been allowed to pull those little shrubs and trees if you lived here.)

  12. What a beautiful saying. Never heard that before.
We hade snow yesterday...1/2 inch, but by the end of the day it had all melted away, and today was lovely.
I was even able to take one of those lovely fall walks through the fields.
