Have You Ever Heard Of A........

VET MOBILE?

I had never heard of a Vet Mobile before, have you?
But I think it is just such a smart idea for all of
those small Northern communities that can't
support a full time Veterinarian.
Dr. Carl and June, his Assistant park their Vet Clinic on
wheels here at the lodge every two weeks.
Dr. Carl's clinic is complete with a surgery, an ex-ray,
basically everything that's needed to treat  a persons
pet.
There are cages for any sleeping animals waiting to wake
from surgery.
This Vet Clinic travels all  over to the communities along the
North Shores of Lake Superior, also Chapleau, Wawa, Sudbury,
and probably some I've forgotten!
Of course Tim didn't want to miss out on the tour.
He was just as impressed as I was.
***************************************************************************************
I said I would keep you posted of anything interesting.
I hope you find this so.
When the winter weather breaks here I will take you
along to the falls (there are several) and whatever
other interesting places I can discover.
Now I'm off to dig out my crocheting yarn. I bought
hot pink, lime green, and periwinkle blue to
get started with.
Wish me luck!

  4. It's funny you posted this vet comes to the town I used to live (Manitouwadge). I never went to him because my dog was already going to the other mobile vet.

  7. I have heard of Dentist Mobiles and Library Mobiles, but this is the first I've heard of a Vet Mobile. I think it's a great idea to bring these much needed services to the communities without a resident vet.

  9. Kimberly,

Yes, I've heard of mobile vets. There fabulous, especially when you reside out in the country.

Can't wait to see your next post.

  13. Very cool! I see plenty of snow on the ground...looks cold. Hope that spring finds you before July. Until then, the cheery colors you're using to crochet will help!

  15. That's a wonderful idea! I haven't heard of them before but I guess living in a smaller province there are lots of regular vet clinics in the the cities and towns and even the countryside. I wondered if you are at the lodge already. I hope you're liking it there. I can't wait to see what you come up with for your crocheting. Have a great day! Hugs, Pam

  16. We have one here that comes to town certain days a week. They offer prices a little cheaper than those of a regular vet. I have had several friends use them and have been pleased!

  17. I think this is such a great idea. We used to use a mobile groomer who would come to our house and take our dog out to her van for the grooming. So much less stressful on the dog I think. Love those crocheted edgings. I made some baby stuff with that edging years ago. I should get out my stuff and try it again. Mimi

  18. What a great idea for a rural area, I am sure tons of animals are taken better care of because of the convenience. I have seen mobile grooming, but not vets!
