Wawa Blueberry Coffeecake

As many of you know my DH and I drove to Wawa last summer to pick blueberries. This
was great, but since my husband never eats sweets I don't get an opportunity to bake much
with them.
But last weekend my SIL & MIL were here, so I whipped together this Blueberry Cream Cheese
Coffeecake. To me, everything taste better with cream cheese in it!! Don't you agree? The recipe
was  found at It was yummy, but  I have to admit, a little dry. If I make it again
I'll check it 10 minutes earlier than the recipe calls for.
I want to draw your attention to this sweet tableware set.
I bought the four piece table setting at Value Village for only $1.99.
I'm always whining about how high Value Village is these days.
I can imagine in my mind some nerdy fellow sitting in far recesses
of their warehouse surfing the net to find the highest possible prices
they can put on their merchandise these days. It kind of takes the fun
out of  shopping there . But every once in a while I do find a
steal, so I keep hunting. I figure even Mr. Nerdy has to sick once
a while!
Here is another photo from Saturday. We have had more snow these last few days than we've
had all winter. It's not deep, but it is putting a pretty coating on everything again. Now that
is how I like my winter! Is anyone else out there getting some lovely winter weather?
Well, better late than never, I say!
I'm partying today with:

  1. Your pictures are wonderful!
Yummy looking coffee cake and that lake, breath taking.

I agree with the prices at secondhand stores. I have noticed big increases. But you did score on the cute tableware.

  2. Your coffeecake looks yummy. I love blueberries in just about everything. Our snow has melted here again for now, but we may get more this weekend. I wouldn't mind if we didn't get any more! :)

  3. OMGosh- I think I just drooled into my keyboard. It is cold and snowy here today but pretty mild for us. xo Diana

  4. Everything looked perfect. I love the tea kettle and the silverware. Thank you for sharing. Your snow photo is nice.

  5. Oh, I love your pictures of the snow and the lake. It was actually in the 70's today and I hung clothes outside and had the windows open. My daffodils are blooming so it's pretty Spring like here...should be on it's way to you soon also.
Loved what you did to that rug. I may have to try that with a few of mine. I love the look of it. I also love that silverware! I would have asked you where you got it because it is so cute! I love it and so glad you got such a deal on it! You go girl!

  6. P.S. I love your blueberry cake too...yum! I use allrecipes all the's a great resource!

  7. that is delicous coffee cake for sure, can't wait for blueberry season, did you find the cutlery in Sault Ste. Marie Value Village?

  8. I have blueberries in my freezer....I might need to look that recipe up! Maybe the extra moisture from the berries being frozen will take care of any dryness. :)
Old Man Winter has finally come to Minnesota....two more days of snow storms predicted yet this week. Love your red table setting!

  9. Hi Kimberly, the coffee cake sounds yummy especially with your own picked berries. They just taste better than imported ones don't they? We had a mild day here and another couple coming before we get some snow Friday night. I went to VV last week but didn't find anything. Maybe I'll try tomorrow. Hugs, Pam

  10. No winter for me. I had the doors open and the windows and it was about 72 degrees. It was perfect.
I so totally agree, everything is better with cream cheese. It looks so yummy.
I think your little silverware looks very nice.
I am glad you finally got snow. It looks very pretty too.
I hope you have a nice day tomorrow.

  11. Oh my goodness, the blueberry coffee cake looks awesome. Blueberries are one of my favorite things in life!! So glad you got to bake and enjoy and I'm sure your IL's did too. The photos are beautiful.

  12. You didn't have to draw my attention to the table setting because I noticed it right off the bat. Love it.

  13. The photo of the lake and snow is beautiful! We had a spring-like day here. Our winter has been really mild so far.
The table setting is pretty, I love red. And you got quite a bargain on the tableware! I agree with you about cream cheese, it makes everything taste good!

  14. very mild winter here which makes me very happy but not the skiers,
Sweet table setting and I think your right everything is better with cream cheese.

  15. That looks delicious! I hope you'll link this up with Rural Thursday :-)

  16. Your cake looks yummy and yes EVERYTHING tastes better with cream cheese. I also agree about value village. The prices can be outrageous, but then once in awhile you find that deal on just the thing you wanted. You have to be commited to going and looking and often being disappoined. LOL. Have a great day.

  17. Anything with blueberries and cream cheese has to be yummy. We have had such a mild winter here in the midwest. Only one snow and going to be 6o on Sunday. Unheard of at the end of Feb.

  18. Blueberry coffee cake... with cream cheese... count me in :). I admire your husband for not liking sweets, but unfortunately I do.
Your table setting is so cheerful and pretty. Great deal on the adorable flatware. The prices at our VV seem to be going up too. What's up with that?
Your snow photo is beautiful. I will have to enjoy it because we are headed for 75 degrees here today.

  19. The place setting is so homey. I notice the flatware right away. Great find:)

  20. I'll be right there , do you want tea or coffee!

  21. Such a pretty table setting. I really like everything on it (yes, cream cheese is terrific) and the silverware is adorable.

I hope that you didn't send the winter stuff my way. I'm rather enjoying a non-winter.

  22. That cake looks delicious.
I agree that Value Village prices seem to be going up and up.
We are supposed to get snow tomorrow, about 10 cm. guess that will be our winter.

  23. wow that coffee cake looks so yummy and that is the cutest set of table wear! love the snow pic too!

  24. Very cute table wear set and your coffee cake looks awesome.

We're expecting about 2 inches tonight, but it will be gone by the weekend, I imagine.

Thank you for sharing at Rural Thursday.

  25. Your flatware pieces are gorgeous!
Now on to dessert. I have a terrible sweet tooth, your coffee cake looks wonderful. You would never get rid of me until it was all gone!!! :)
    Hugs Rosemary...xox

  26. I love the snow and it has been snowing for the last two days, I'm a happy winter person!
I know exactly what you are saying about VV, I think you're right about that nerdy fellow.:)
I love those pieces of tableware, they're very sweet.
    Enjoy the snow.

  27. My son recently asked for coffee cake...oh the tableware is so fun...and beautiful pictures of the snow..we had 82 degrees here today

  28. Your coffeecake looks yummy to me! I LOVE blueberries!! I also am a huge fan of the the enamelware/spatterware (whatever you call it.) It just gives me a cozy feeling.
