For the Birds

I believe it was quite a while ago that I painted and hung this old cabinet that
once belonged to my father in-law.
I really like these sweet little bird planters?
Really are they planters? I don't know. If they
are they must hold some really teeny weeny plants.
This birdie looks like a giant on his perch!
But for two bucks, I couldn't resist him.
This one is my favorite-I love the faded aqua.
My sis bought this sweet mirrored frame for me
and I printed a bird graphic from Cathe Holden's
freebies. So easy!

Here I bought two milk glass plates, printed more bird graphics,
and then glued the pics and rick rack to each one.
After adding a little glitter and some  sweet ribbon, they are ready
to go. Now where do you think I should I hang them?
 The bedroom or bathroom?
My latest project is crocheting an edging for an old white rug
that I have. Now this is laughable, considering my crocheting
knowledge consist of  a pot scrubber pattern that I ended up
converting to my limited ability! But I'm determined. So stay
posted.
Hope you have a great weekend-Kimberly

  2. I love all your birdies. Where do you need more-the bathroom or the bedroom? Will putting them in your bedroom make you 'tweeter? (sweeter/tweeter) get it? nevermind.

Hope you have a good night and good luck with your crocheting project. xo Diana

  4. They'll look darling wherever you decide to place them. I really like your color choice for the shelf and the planters. Did those originally come from florists' shops with arrangements in them? I just saw some on a blog today that were Christmasy and had plastic greenery in them. I'll be interested to see your crochet project having had a few of my own lately. Ha!

  10. Those are really cute. My grandmother used to have a curio cabinet with a lot of little ceramic and porcelain figures and such. These birds remind me of those figures in her cabinet. Sweet memories. :D I like the wall hangings you made too.

  21. I love the bird ornaments. Especially the aqua hued one. They were quite popular in the 40's and 50's perhaps with ivy growing out of them. The milk glass plate are really cute too. Have a great weekend Kimberly! Pamela

  25. Hi Kimberly, Your collection of bird planters is so sweet. I love the faded aqua one also. I think that the little bird plates would look cute either place, but I'm routing for the bathroom. I have added birds to my master bath and love them. I have bird items scattered here and there throughout the house. They just make me happy.
