It's Time

With the weather now in the 20's & 30's, it's time for the flannel sheets.
It's hard to imagine these babies stay on the bed until July usually.
My husband is up and at it already working on his latest project- a log shed.
This is the first time he's ever attempted a structure. But after calling our son,
Clayton, he felt he was up to the task. I'm happy because I will have somewhere
again to store some totes, and then can claim my loft back as a creative space.
If you could see my loft right now you would understand what a BIG deal this
                  shed really is to me!
I've got to get busy with my several little Christmas projects. I bought my apron
swap fabric-so cute. I'll show you after my swap partner has received it. I do want
it to be a surprise after all! I am cutting out a pattern and finding fabric for my MIL
to make dog and cat hand puppets for the great g'children. And then theres the fabric
book above I haven't done yet. Oh, I'm not going to bore you with all the many projects
I've got in mind for Christmas. Which in the end, I'm usually good at getting only half
              done.
What are you working on today? I'm sure many of you are only concentrating on
Thanksgiving. But if you're not, let me know what your project for today is.
              Blessings to you all today-Kimberly

  1. I like the structure idea for logs. Will there be any way to keep spiders out? You've reminded me that I should add flannel sheets to the to do list as well.

  5. I can relate with how much it means for you to have an extra storage space :)

We finally cleaned out our storage unit and put everything in the granary for now. My sis. in law and bro. in law own 2 huge storage unit complexes and they were generous enough to let us store things there during the move, and renovation. But, I like everything being at home. Even if it's still not organized :)

Today, I'm making fire starters, washing bedding (no flannel sheets here) and canning some more apple butter.

Have a wonderful week, and a very, very Happy Thanksgiving!!

  7. I'm not working on any projects right now, just making lists of what will need to be done once we get home from our month on the west coast. We did however, put the fleece sheets on the bed before we left, all prepared for when we get home at the end of the month.

  8. You are going to so appreciate that building...Never can we have too much space. Can you believe we are still sleeping with the air conditioner running each night...still warm here.
My project is my kitchen..Still undergoing a make over..Electrician was here this morning..Tile coming next Monday..Then maybe I can concentrate on Christmas projects..

  9. Love the flannel. The comfy flannel jammies came out a week ago. I'm ready to start a new little holiday hooked rug but it will have to wait until Wednesday. Tonight is the Dancing With the Stars finale - I'll be glued to the TV!

  11. Hi Kimberly, I've put aside my latest quilt to focus on the holidays. It's great that your hubby is building the shed and you can reclaim your creative area.
    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  12. The flannels are on and feel so good at night! The grand kids jammies are done but I'm still working on the flannel pillowcases. I have their names all embroidered on, now it is just assemble. I'm still think on a little knitting but I will have to wait to see my time. I'm like you, have all these grandeur ideas but only get about half accomplished. Snuggle in the flannels tonight and have a great week!

  16. How fun to cozy up in the flannel sheets.

I admire your Husband for taking on a project outside in temps that cold!

I'm running in circles with my projects. Trying to keep ahead.
I'm sewing a casserole holder for my daughter and daughter-in-law. One down, one to go.

  20. It's not quite that cold here yet, but I know it will be before long. I'm in no hurry! Rainy all day here today so wrapping up in an afghan sounds good tonight, but it is supposed to get nice again the next couple of days. :)

  21. I've had the flannels on the bed for 3 weeks and they are ever so cozy to crawl into at night. I haven't had flannel sheets for years and am glad I made the purchase this fall. I've been baking up a storm today (and again tomorrow) for a bake sale for our church choir - 10 dozen cookies needed! I've never made that many cookies at one sitting before. Old man winter is coming with 10 - 15 cm. of snow tomorrow. Yippee! I hope it melts by the weekend. I'm glad you're getting a new storage shed. Is he putting logs on the outside of it after? Have a great rest of the week! Hugs, Pamela

  23. Don't you just love flannel Sheets? I have had mine on for a couple of weeks and today it broke a record and was 78 degrees! And tonight we have a tornado watch. Yep, in November. My mister worked on a tin top to cover our firewood so that when it does turn cold it won't get wet. I got the big tree in the great room decorated, and then went shopping with my girls and out to lunch. I have tons I want to get done but want to also enjoy the holidays. So.... what gets done will. Have a Happy Thanksgiving

  24. I have shed envy! We have a lean-to shed next to Charles' studio, but it is open to the weather. I want to enclose it with clear fiberglass so he can still get the light. It has a dirt floor, so not appropriate for things we want to keep warm or dry!

It is about 29 degrees here and snowing - I might put our flannel sheets on as well!

BTW - I am getting lots of compliments on my mittens!

  28. No projects for me today. We had preschool and the science museum, lunch, then when the boys nap I have a phone consultation for some online marketing I do, and I'm hoping to sneak in a 3 miler on the treadmill, and by then it'll be time to start fixing dinner!

I like that little log shed!

  29. We have been using flannel or fleece sheets on our bed for a month already. I like your red ones, very festive!
I was in Fabric Land today and purchased the flannel to make the men in my family pj pants. I only have three little button holes to make on my grand sons and it is finished. I must get to that tomorrow. So, hopefully I will have the men's pjs nearly done tomorrow.
Our snow is nearly all gone, here in the 'Peg, the temp was up at 8* today! Can believe it? I want it to snow and snow and snow!
    Hugs, Cindy
